It was a massive treat to be asked by @catchpoleandrye to fill their windows (and enormous copper bath) with seasonal flowers and foliage as part of @chelsea_in_bloom which runs alongside @rhschelseaflowershow Our idea was to give a sense of the bath running over, as if someone had left the tap on, and the frothy bath water comprised big round Angelica heads, orlaya grandiflora, corncockle, scented pink valerian and… rye (the silvery seed head that looks like barley). We loaded up the C&R van yesterday morning and waved goodbye to our travelling meadowscapes, with a little lump in the throat. Anyway, they arrived safely and were tended to, including watering and misting, by the lovely Lizzi. Despite the size and complexity of the arrangements we did not use a scrap of floral foam. Just as we like it! And every single stem was grown by us, without chemicals, just a few miles from Catchpole & Rye’s HQ in Kent. Have a wonderful week of Chelsea! ...
