It’s all hands to the pump in our little corner of Kent, and Cousin Paul is running round like the proverbial, getting ready for the grand re-opening of the Yalding Gardens (formerly Yalding Organic Gardens). Rather than competing for everyone’s attention on his opening weekend, we’ve decided to postpone our Blooming Green open day until the following month. The recent sunshine and showers have brought the plot alive this week and by July it should be a sea of flowers. So, please put July 24 in your diaries.
Back to the Yalding Gardens… The Gardens (formerly Yalding Organic Gardens) will reopen with a garden party at 12pm on Saturday the 12th June. Entrance to the Gardens will be free and there will be a selection of edible goodies, tea and coffee on sale throughout the afternoon. Also, there will be an opportunity to purchase annual membership at a 25 percent discount. If you haven’t visited the five-acre gardens before, you’ve missed out. They are magical, educational and a totally relaxing place to spend an afternoon. Oh, and despite the name change, they are still certified organic… so if you’re looking for tips and ideas on how you can garden organically, this is a great place for inspiration.
