Today we had a group of students from Hadlow College come and plant a hedge for us. Our windbreak is constantly, well, getting broken (maybe that’s how it gets its name?!)… so we’ve added a second line of protection.  Our new hedge includes: birch, Spindleberry (Euonymus europaeus), Guelder rose and dogwood, so it’s not only

Recently, most of our time has been spent sorting out our new website (we hope you like it as much as we do), but there’s still masses to do outside the warmth of our office. Stage 1 of making our plot more welcoming has involved putting in a new gate and posts of local chestnut.

The other day we got a last-minute invitation to a Belgian plant fair, from our gardening guru Anke. Beervelde is held near Lochristi and, dare we say it, leaves Hampton Court in the shade and, erm, looking a bit tacky. Plant sellers gather in the mature parkland around a country house, with the whole event
